"Bump Watch"

The president , last night gave a nation wide speech from an inappropriate venue. It should have come from the oval office. One senses Karl Rove's finger prints all over site selection. That being said and nothing new coming from the speech, it is time for, "speech bump watch." Now we get to watch in amusement as all the pundits and pollsters scurry around like mice, attempting to figure out if the speech made any damn difference in the way Americans view both the war in Iraq and the president himself.

The only thing I got out of the speech and it always makes my skin crawl every time I hear him say it is, the link between Iraq, Terrorism and 9/11. Give him credit though, the man is truly a one trick pony. Give it up pal! Why do you think we no longer think you have a grip?

Between your refusal to accept reality on this topic and the Veep's pronoucements about, "Final or last throes," you guys are falling deep into the out of touch whole. Time to get back to Crawford and oh never mind..................what's the use.

Have a great 4th. And remember, a slight against the president is a slight against our troops!!! You know those brave men and woman who fight and bleed and die for our country. The ones who, when they come back we are so greatful to we underfund their programs by 1 billion dollars a year...........yah those folks.

No mistakes I can think of

Remember during a press conference the president was pressed to recall any mistakes he might have made in his first four years as president? ................

It is the highest form of self-respect to admit our errors and mistakes and make amends for them. To make a mistake is only an error in judgment, but to adhere to it when it is discovered shows infirmity of character.--Dale Turner

The man who makes no mistakes does not usually make anything.--William Connor Magee

The man who never makes a mistake always takes orders from one who does.--Anonymous

It's not only Bolton now it's Cooney too!

We're all aware by now that the president's man to be UN ambassador is prone to bend the facts to fit his message. Now we find out from today's Washington Post, Bolton is not the only one. A guy named Cooney, chief of staff to the environmental council to Mr Bush, also has a proclivity to spin science for political advantage. Apparently this guy (coming from big polluter Inc, American Petroleum Institute) doesn't like what the scientific community says about global warming. So, naturally he alters scientific reports to fit his political agenda. This has cast a pall of low moral over those working earnestly on this topic for the government.

While we are diverted by silliness like intelligent design, Mr Bush's White House is systematically dismantling safe guards that are meant to protect all of us for the sole purpose of benefiting a few.

Funny how they want unfettered power to do what ever they want, take the profits and call it "free enterprise," and "individual rights," but when they get in trouble they all of a sudden like the rest of us to share the pain.

Darfur Mr President, where they really are killing babies!

Wasn't it just last year that Mr. Bush declared Darfur as a place where Genocide was occurring? I used to think saying that meant something. Apparently I was mistaken. It seems saying it is enough. No action required. Now I understand why Roosevelt didn't bomb the train tracks leading to the death camps in WWII. And to think June 6, was just yesterday.

Boy, now I understand why Mr Bush is ready to go to the mat to protect a zygote. Any amalgam of human cells is worth fighting for! Hip hip hurray! Maybe Mr. Bush has an affinity for any human life form frozen in suspended animation. Its all about empathy.
